The operating system for Indian intercity bus operators

Everyone else counts your tickets. We count your profit.

BusGrid runs your counter, your own booking site, your GPS and cameras, and the number the OTAs will never show you: what each bus actually earns.

The market

A large market, still run on paper.

India's private intercity bus sector booked thousands of crores in a single half-year and moved 140 million people. Most of those seats are still sold at the counter, and most of the online ones are sold through OTAs that take a cut. The operators who own their channel keep the margin.

Why operators pick BusGrid

Four things the others cannot offer together.

One vendor, one invoice

Software, the AIS-140 tracker, and the cameras on a single bill. Most bus software stops at software and leaves you to buy the hardware from someone else, then chase three suppliers when a bus goes dark.

A direct revenue engine

Your own booking site, WhatsApp booking, and a channel P&L that prices every OTA seat at its true, loaded cost. The direct share climbs, and you can see exactly what the OTAs were charging you for it.

East India, in your languages

Odia, Hindi and Bengali for the counter and the crew, built for the Balasore to Berhampur corridor. Not a southern product with a language pack bolted on at the end.

Owner trust, in writing

Independent, with no OTA on the cap table. Flat pricing, no setup fee, a published policy that we never sell your data, and a one click export you can take anywhere.

The product

Everything the day needs, in one system.

Reservations, distribution, the money, the fleet, and compliance. Each of these is built and running, not a slide.

Seat 3A, one trip₹1,145 earned
BalasoreCuttackBerhampur₹525₹620

Sell the same seat twice, safely

A seat is a segment of a route, not a line on a manifest. BusGrid sells seat 3A across non-overlapping legs and fills the empty middle of the corridor. An overlapping double sell is impossible, blocked in the database even under a rush.

Direct seat₹620 kept

Profit per bus, per channel

Not tickets sold. BusGrid shows which bus made money and what each channel really costs, so you can price the OTAs at their true weight.

ConductorOffline, synced

A crew app that works with no signal

High contrast, big targets, one action per screen. On a moving bus in a dead zone, offline is the normal state and it syncs when the bars come back.

The same tracker feeds you, not just the state

AIS-140 devices must send to at least two government backends and the standard allows more for operational use. BusGrid takes one of those streams, so the box you already fit for compliance also runs your own live tracking.

5%or18%
GST on the ticket, applied correctly, with the input credit rule that comes with it.

GST and paperwork, correct by default

Invoices, cancellations and returns follow the current rules from the 56th GST Council, so the numbers your accountant sees already add up.

AIS-140 (VLTD and emergency button) is mandated for public service vehicles under Rule 125H of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules; state rollout and retrofit deadlines vary. The multi-IP requirement is from the AIS-140 Protocol Document v1.0 (Odisha State Transport Authority, 20 September 2022), which requires a minimum of two IP addresses for regulatory and emergency use, separate from those needed for operational purposes. Device firmware varies, so we confirm multi-IP support per vendor before we fit. GST on passenger road transport follows the 56th GST Council, effective 22 September 2025.

How we compare

The difference is the combination.

Good software exists in this market. What no one else puts in one place: independence, the hardware on your invoice, your languages, and a system that reports profit rather than ticket counts.

The living lab

Proven on a real corridor, not a slide.

BusGrid runs first where it has to work: an eight-bus operator on the NH16 Balasore to Berhampur corridor in Odisha. The counter, the booking site, and the money reporting run alongside the operator's existing process.

We retire the paper only after seven straight days where every number reconciles. No invented case study, no borrowed logo. When we say a number, it has already had to match the till.

The seven day reconciliation

These have to agree, every evening, before paper is retired.

  • 1Seats sold on every departure
  • 2Cash collected against the counted till
  • 3Cancellations and refunds issued
  • 4Seats sold on overlapping legs (must be zero)
  • 5The shift close difference

Keep more of what your buses earn.

See BusGrid on your own routes and fares. Live in a day, flat price, no setup fee, and no cut of your bookings.

Independent, no OTA parent. Built in Odisha for Indian operators.
